The intention of the session is to provide nurture practice to promote health and well-being of mother and child, and also to share practical techniques of value in mental, emotional, psychic and physical preparation for birth. Gentle movement, breath work and sound work will be integrated with a deep relaxation practice of Total Yoga Nidra.
The webinars will be co-facilitated by Uma Dinsmore-Tuli PhD and Nirlipta Tuli MA, and based upon Uma’s books on yoga for pregnancy and birth. These live online sessions also draw from the ‘Preparing for Birth with Yoga’ workshops that Nirlipta Tuli ran for expectant mothers and their birth partners for over ten years at Kings College Hospital and Guys and St Thomas’s Hospital. The workshop will also incorporate some trace elements of Nirlipta’s unique hypnosis for birth sessions within the Total Yoga Nidra practice. If you are looking for a dedicated Hypnosis for Birth session, please book instead for a One to One session with Nirlipta Tuli.
Please prepare for the webinar by organising a place where you can lie down to practice yoga nidra and still be visible to Uma and Nirlipta! This means set up your phone, tablet or computer so that the camera can see you even when you lie down to practice yoga nidra, side on, from the head to the pelvis. We also suggest that you have bolsters, blankets and cushions available for your comfort.
You may find it useful to consult Uma’s books Mothers Breath and Teach yourself Yoga for Pregnancy and Birth before or after the webinar. All the practices taught in the webinar are described in these books, with the exception of the Total Yoga Nidra Practice which will be uniquely co-created live on the evening for those attending the webinar. This practice will be recorded and made available to participants after the webinar at no additional costs.
